Giant stairs

Met Vadim and Megan at giant stairs this weekend! Another new hike I have never done before , giant stairs is part of the Palisades state park which I have hiked a couple of times, but giant stairs is so different and so much more fun!

Palisades park is along Hudson river on the New Jersey side. Cliffs by the hudson rive provides the best lookout points right at the river and of course the New York city skyline. It is probably the closest or the only hike you can do with a view of New York city. Richard used to host meetup hike groups on Wednesday nights and the group would meet on New York side of the GWB, walk through the bridge and go on the 5 miler hike. It was a lot run especially for some hikers working in the city to get some relaxing hours after a long working day. It had always been good times for Richard and Fan. (To tell you a secret, Fan and Richard had their 4th date here!)

Back to talking about our hike in giant stairs, it is quiet a difficult hike, probably not a hike for small children, but I am special, I have my carrier - Richard. However, we saw a lot of kids, it is amazing how they can climb all the boulders by themselves, considering it is a 4 miler loop hike with high elevation difference and a lot of bouldering along the water, I hope i can be as brave and a good hiker as them when I grow out of my carrier.

Funny thing to mention that the trail goes from New Jersey to New York, and literally there is metal gate that you have go through on the border, I wonder what is that for??? To stop people from doing what, crossing?

I was able to walk around a lot by myself by the river and at the end of the hike, I loved it. and People love me, got a lot of compliments on the trail as usual, shhhhhh, not that I am bragging...,,,
